Calming Solutions Therapy

I believe that every journey of healing begins within. This can be the most difficult, challenging, and upsetting place to navigate. Yet, without these inward steps, it can be hard to move forward.
My approach integrates psychodynamic and person-centred/humanistic therapies. This means I focus on understanding how past experiences may be impacting your present challenges while also honouring your unique perspective, values, and inner wisdom.
I believe in meeting clients where they are on their healing journey, respecting individual differences, and creating a safe and inclusive space for all. As someone of dual heritage, I deeply understand the importance of diversity and equity in therapy.
Together, we can explore your inner world, develop self-awareness, and cultivate the inner resources you need for personal growth and healing.
I am passionate about making quality mental health support accessible to all. My approach combines professional training with genuine understanding of life's challenges and constraints. Developing the tools necessary for you to empower yourself and become the best version of you, achieving your goals and live a fulfilling life.

A bit about me; "My name is Kevin. I work with children experiencing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, helping them develop the tools necessary to manage their behaviour. My therapeutic approach is grounded in person-centred and psychodynamic modalities. I am particularly passionate about these approaches, as I believe that understanding and processing past experiences is crucial in shaping positive future outcomes. I am deeply committed to facilitating personal growth and empowering individuals to realise their full potential. I find great satisfaction in fostering collaborative relationships that promote positive change. I believe that the foundation of effective therapy lies in building strong client relationships and cultivating a robust working alliance. I look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with you."
What is therapy, is it for me, and why choose therapy: Therapy is essentially a safe space where you can work with a trained professional to understand yourself better and navigate life's challenges. Think of it, like having a knowledgeable guide to help you explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. People seek therapy for many reasons, and there's no wrong reason to go. You might consider therapy if: You're feeling overwhelmed, by emotions like sadness, anxiety, or anger. You're going through a major life change (relationships, career, loss). You're dealing with past trauma, or difficult experiences. You're struggling with relationships or communication. You want to understand yourself better, or break unhelpful patterns. You're having trouble meeting your goals or feeling stuck. You're experiencing significant stress or burnout. Importantly, you don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Just like when we go to the doctor for check-ups, or a personal trainer to improve physical fitness. Therapy can help maintain and improve mental health. It's a form of self-care and personal growth.

"How I work?" Sessions will be conducted on "Signal", this is a free end-to-end encrypted messenger service, it offers quick easy to use and most importantly encrypted messaging and video calls keeping all your information safe. To keep clients safe, I use What3Words, this is so I can pinpoint your location if needed in an emergency. These are my recommendations for a safe space to conduct sessions online, I am open to other methods, please contact me to discuss. After you’ve made initial contact, I will send out an Initial Contact Response, which will have linked to it a working agreement form, with some questions to help me understand your presenting issues, and whether I am the therapist for you. You will also receive a contract that sets out our working agreement
